Our Story
Our story began in 2003, when two Pacific Northwest entrepreneurs recognized the significant economic and environmental benefits that could be achieved by recovering and recycling valuable products and energy from scrap tire rubber. Committed to that vision, they set out to invent a groundbreaking technology offering a new option for managing scrap tires – one that’s great for the economy and the environment.
Founding Reklaim, these entrepreneurs assembled a top-notch team of scientists, engineers and construction managers who shared the dream of inventing a tire pyrolysis technology that could successfully transition from lab to marketplace. Over the past few years, that dream has become real, and
the McKinstry Reklaim technology has the potential to reshape the way scrap tires are managed.
Our McKinstry Reklaim Facility is fully permitted and became operational in 2008. Initial process and products testing has yielded exciting results, and we expect to be operating on a continuous basis by the end of 2009 or early 2010. The McKinstry Reklaim technology offers a brand new way to manage scrap tires that's helping us become a leading edge tire recycling company.
We proudly became McKinstry Reklaim in 2009, harnessing the collective experience, resources and strategic vision that The McKinstry Company is known for. McKinstry Reklaim is led by an experienced management team that is ready to grow the company in the U.S. and beyond.
